Northgate owns and operates the Kemess mine, a large open-pit gold and copper mining operation located in north-central British Columbia, approximately 300 kilometres northwest of Mackenzie.
Kemess is a fly in/fly out operation with a 5,000' lighted airstrip, 540 room camp, first aid, exercise and recreation facilities. Flights are provided from Prince George and Smithers for employees on the 2x2 work schedule. Depending on availability, flights are provided from Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers for employees on the 4x3 work schedule.

We are recruiting for the following position to join our team:
Heavy Duty Mechanic
This position will report to the Shovel/Drill Maintenance Foreman and participate in a two-week in and two-week out work schedule. The successful candidate must possess a heavy-duty mechanic BC certification of trade qualification, ideally coupled with an inter-provincial qualification. Previous experience repairing and maintaining Euclid R260 haul trucks, Caterpillar equipment, P&H and Hitachi shovels along with Atlas Copco and P&H drills is preferred.

Warehouse Person
This position will report to the Warehouse Supervisor. Responsibilities include all aspects of warehousing functions, including shipping, receiving and tracking of items; as well as warehouse maintenance, inventory analysis, cycle counts and ordering. Qualifications include experience in the all of the above noted areas. A valid Journeyman Industrial Warehouse ticket is preferred. Basic computer skills are required and knowledge of MAXIMO software and industrial experience preferably in mining is a definite asset. The successful candidate should be familiar with operating a forklift and loader.
This position will work a two-week in and two-week out work schedule. Flights are provided from Smithers and Prince George.

Mill Superintendent
Reporting to the Young-Davidson Project Manager, the Mill Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the detailed engineering, construction, commissioning of the process plant, recruitment/hiring, and ultimately, the efficient operation and maintenance of a 6,000 tonnes per day plant. Other key qualifications include:
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a superintendent in a gold processing plant. Previous solid knowledge of AG/SAG mill operations, flotation, CIL, carbon elution and refining operations.
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven ability to meet safety, production and budget targets
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Previous experience managing successfully in a hourly environment is preferred
- Computer literacy skills in Word and Excel
- Metallurgical degree or related degree preferred.

Reporting to the Project Manager the Human Resources Superintendent is accountable and responsible for a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, recruitment and retention, occupation classification and pay, training and development, and benefit administration. The successful candidate will:
- Plan, organize, develop and evaluate human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers
- Co-ordinate internal and external training and recruitment activities
- Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures

Reporting to the Project Manager Mining, the Chief Mine Engineer will be responsible for developing short and long range mine plans, training and development of departmental staff will assist in Strategic Planning and equipment selection and will have a major roll in Budget processes. Other key qualifications include:
- B.Sc. in Mine Engineering and registration with the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Electrical Mechanical Superintendent
Reporting to the Young-Davidson Project Manager, the Electrical Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing property wide maintenance and servicing of all underground mobile and surface equipment, buildings and facilities, electrical distribution and electrical installations. As well as supervision of owners electrical/mechanical contracts and commissioning of equipment.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years supervisory experience in the mining industry

Reporting to the Mine Captain the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily planning and organization of ramp and lateral and development crews. Promotion of company safety programs and providing leadership to insure conformance to government regulations and internal policies require candidates have good communication skills coupled with strong leadership abilities. Successful candidates will have their supervisory common core.

This individual will be responsible for providing support in the Enviromental Department including but not limited to: field work, government reporting and data entry. Requirements include: computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, the ability to operate a snowmobile, ATV and watercraft. A post secondary education in Environmental or related field would be an asset. Individual must have a valid drivers license.

Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer the Mine Surveyor will be responsible for providing all survey functions related to our underground mining operations including ramp and lateral development. As well the successful candidate will be involved in mine exploration drill hole layout, short range mine planning and mine bonus administration.
